Monochromatic vs. Full-Spectrum LED Displays
Not All Digital Scoreboard Displays Are Created Equal
If you have stands full of fans and are looking for an immersive experience, digital LED scoreboards are the definitive answer, but it's essential to have cutting-edge technology. Older systems may display the score, but how it's displayed makes all the difference. Modern, full-spectrum LED scoreboards possess the technology to portray colors accurately, whereas older technology cannot typically display vibrant, accurate colors due to deprecated lighting models. If the main driver for a scoreboard is to encourage team spirit, shouldn't it, at the very least, be able to display your team's colors boldly and accurately?
Monochromatic Display Systems
Monochromatic systems are LED displays that only present one color. Seemingly simplistic monochromatic signs do have a few uses.
Off the field, they can be used to adhere to zoning regulations and communicate traffic-related messages that are very easy to read. The LED bulbs prevent significant glares and can be seen from various angles and in different lighting. Specific colors are often associated with particular meanings, so sometimes, only one color is needed to communicate on these types of displays.
Another benefit of a monochromatic LED system is that if the display uses only one color, it requires less energy to power. The display's message still gets communicated clearly, despite the simple visuals.
While functional, monochromatic displays are not an ideal choice for school programs. Their abilities are minimal, making it difficult to run the stimulating visuals that keep your spectators engaged in events. If your program is looking for a customizable scoreboard with many visual options to entertain crowds, display advertisements, and more, we recommend a full-spectrum LED scoreboard system
Full-Spectrum LED Systems
Full-spectrum LED displays offer just that: the full spectrum of colors. They can manipulate bright, precise graphics, promote school spirit, and provide high-quality advertisement space for sponsors.
Full-spectrum systems may also be referred to as RGB displays, which reference the three colors that can create any other color on the spectrum: red, green, and blue. Every single pixel on a full-spectrum LED display has three RGB LEDs, or sub-pixels, compared to the single bulb you would find on a monochromatic display. These three LED sub-pixels make it possible to display any color and create virtually any image using a combination of these three colors. The result is a crisp, high-resolution image with accurate color and light intensity.
Implementing modern technology in your school is essential to improving your team's experience, fans, and your community overall. LED scoreboard systems give your fans an unbeatable Friday Night Light experience and your program many possibilities for visual displays.
